Cooking for kids

As well as life being a non-stop merry go round of madness, we all want to try and eat healthy, even more so when our children are concerned. Whilst getting them to eat can sometimes be a cause for a breakdown, knowing what we’re putting in their bellies and whether it’s the right thing can also weigh on our minds.

If you long to cook for your family but you have no time for it and even if you did you wouldn’t want to waste it in the kitchen then come and take part in some simple life skills that can change your mindset, maximise your time and hopefully give a bit of joy to what can be a stressful experience.

In this course we will learn the very basics of preparing a meal in the fastest and easiest ways, from using pre chopped ingredients to planning ahead. We will learn how to, as well as cook most ingredients including meat, so that it is safe and tasty.

Children are complex creatures and can infuriate when we don't understand them. We talk through how they eat and taste and some of the ways you can try to overcome any food phobias or dislikes, from hidden vegetables to making their favourites more healthy.

Sometimes cooking with no time can be similar to running a professional kitchen and you can take some of those tips away with you, from building your own go to menu of foods the family will eat, to preparing and bulk cooking in advance to get your service in timely.

We'll cover a range of simple meals that you can start out cooking and how to adapt them to make a dinner from whatever you have left in the house. Best of all you will have cooked and made a few options for tonight’s dinner already made.
